PLACES

Man’s relation to locations, and through locations to spaces, inheres in his dwelling. The relationship between man and space is none other than dwelling.  – Heidegger (Being, Dwelling, Thinking)

Here you can find my collection of photos, footage and associated musings about places in the British Isles that have some kind of relevance to its pre-history, its legendarium or its literature. Places in which people once dwelt, and perhaps still do, as opposed to merely live.

One of my hobbies is to go hiking with my tripod and drone to document some of these places and reflect on what it was about the landscape that people in the past found inspiring.
